What that means in practice

The tours listed here are sold by Viator and GetYourGuide. When you follow a link from one of these pages and go on to book, the platform pays us a share of its own commission. You pay the same fare either way; the price on the booking page is the operator's price, not a marked-up one.

What we are not

We are not a tour operator, a transport company or a ticketing authority. We do not run any of these vehicles, employ any of these guides or hold your booking. Your contract is with the operator, through the platform.

We are not SANParks and we have no connection with it, with Table Mountain National Park, with the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway or with the City of Cape Town. The conservation fee charged at the Boulders gate is theirs, not ours, and we cannot sell it, waive it or refund it.

How tours get listed

Operators cannot pay for placement, position or a badge. The badges are arithmetic: the best seller is the one carrying the most reviews, the best value is the lowest per-person fare here, and the top-rated one carries a rating of 4.9 or better. The three featured tours at the top of the homepage are three different kinds of day, from three different operators, on two different platforms.

Prices, ratings and how current they are

Prices, star ratings and review counts belong to the operators and were read from their own listings on September 2026. They move, and the figure at checkout is the one that counts. Where a listing was running a promotion that day, the promotional price is the one shown, because it is the price a traveller would have paid. Everything is quoted in US dollars because that is the currency the listings were captured in; nothing here is converted at an exchange rate. Two products are priced per car and say so wherever their price appears.

Where we state a fact about the reserve, it comes from the body that sets it: SANParks for the conservation fee, the tariff year and the gate hours, and the published census for the colony count.

What we deliberately do not publish

• Reduced-band fee figures. South African citizens, residents and SADC nationals pay less, and that is stated; the current figures could not be confirmed against a live SANParks tariff, so no number is printed for them.
• A Cape Point funicular fare. Four listings quote four different figures. We print none of them.
• A Table Mountain cableway fare. The cableway is a separate private operator and its own page is the only safe source.
• Any gate figure an operator quotes inside its own inclusions. Nine of them do, they disagree with each other, and one is simply the tariff that expired in October 2025.
• Train fares or timetables. Both change, and the rail operator's own pages are the only safe source.
